The Blueberry Tanquerita Is What Cocktail Dreams Are Made Of

Here’s How To Make The Blueberry Tanquerita When You Fancy Something Cut Above Your Standard Fare

Having one of those evenings when you fancy something that's a cut above your standard fare? It's time to shake things up a bit, and we've got just the ticket: a Blueberry Tanquerita. Now, this isn't your garden-variety cocktail. We're about to craft something that’s a cheeky nod to the classic, with a twist that'll have your taste buds doing somersaults.

Here's what you will need to make one:

Ingredients:

Tanqueray Gin: 50 ml—the star of the show, with its botanical vibes giving us the perfect base.

Fresh blueberries: a good handful. These little guys are crucial for that sweet, tart kick.

Lime Juice: 20 ml—for that zingy pop. Freshly squeezed, please; none of that bottled stuff.

Simple Syrup: 10 ml—just to smooth over the edges with a bit of sweetness.

Soda Water: A Splash—to top it off and bring the whole thing to life with some bubbles.

Ice: Plenty, because no one likes a lukewarm cocktail.

Garnish: A few whole blueberries and a lime wheel—to make it look as good as it tastes.

Method

Muddle the Blueberries

Grab your shaker and throw in those blueberries. Muddle them up well and properly until they're more juice than berries. This is where all the flavour's at, so don't skimp on the elbow grease.

Add the Gin and More

Pour in the Tanqueray Gin over those muddled blueberries. Add the lime juice and simple syrup next. This combo is where the magic starts happening.

Shake It

Now, fill that shaker with ice and give it a hearty shake. You want everything nicely chilled and mixed. Think of it as a mini workout, so when you drink it, it feels all the more earned.

Strain and Serve

Grab a glass (salt-rimmed if you're feeling fancy) and strain your concoction into it. The colours should remind you of a sunset—deep, inviting, and promising a good time.

Top with soda water

Give it that final flourish with a splash of soda water. It adds that refreshing fizz that makes everything come together.

Garnish and enjoy

Drop in a few whole blueberries and a lime wheel on the rim. Not only does it make your drink look top-notch, but it also adds a bit of extra flavour as you sip.

And there you have it, the Blueberry Tanquerita. It's a drink with personality, a bit of flair, and a whole lot of flavour. Perfect for those evenings when you're looking to unwind, but with a bit of a twist.
