February Is For...Aquamarine Cocktails Inspired By The Sea

Underwater Mixology: Aquamarine Cocktails with Seaside Garnishes

Let's shake things up with a fresh angle on mixing drinks, drawing straight from the sea's vast pantry. Imagine sipping on something that not only hits the spot but also brings a slice of the seaside straight to your glass.

Sea Breeze in a Bottle

Grab 45 ml of Gordon’s Gin. Mix that with 15 ml blue curaçao for the colour of the deep sea and a bit of lime juice for the tang. Top it off with tonic water for a bit of fizz, like sea foam at your feet. Garnish with a sprig of samphire. It’s like sipping on the ocean breeze, with a touch of elegance.

Neptune's Nectar: A Cucumber Sea Breeze

First up, let’s shake up something refreshing: 'Neptune's Nectar'. Imagine Ketel One Vodka, 45 ml to be precise, dancing with 10 ml of fresh seawater. Yes, we're bringing the ocean into the mix! Add in 15 ml lime juice and 10 ml simple syrup, then shake it over ice. The cucumber ribbon and a sprig of samphire as garnish not only look stunning but also add a crunch and a pinch of the sea.

Siren's Song: A Smoky Whisper

Ever heard a siren's call? Well, you're about to taste it. Siren's Song is a tale of Talisker's smoky mystery, with 50 ml of this liquid gold mixed with 15 ml of honey syrup and a dash of orange bitters. Stirred, not shaken and served on the rocks, it’s garnished with dried seaweed and a small skewer of smoked salmon. It’s a cocktail that tells stories of stormy seas and moonlit adventures, with every sip pulling you closer to the siren’s embrace.

Coral Blush: Dive into Colour

Now, for a burst of colour with 'Coral Blush'. We mix 50 ml of Tanqueray Gin with 30 ml of pink grapefruit juice and a whisper of rosewater—just 5 ml. Shake it up and strain into a glass that sparkles with edible glitter on the rim, mimicking the enchanting hues of coral reefs. The grapefruit twist perched on the edge is not just a garnish; it's a dive into the heart of the ocean's vibrant life.

Pirate's Cove: Unearth the Treasure

Lastly, let's uncover a treasure with 'Pirate's Cove'. Here’s a blend for the bold: 60 ml of Captain Morgan Dark Rum, stirred with 20 ml vanilla syrup and a squeeze of lime, bringing together sweetness and zest in a glass rimmed with crushed sea salt. The lime wheel garnish is your X marks the spot, leading you to a liquid treasure that’s as rich and mysterious as any pirate’s hoard.

Underwater Mixology is about bringing a piece of that vast, untamed blue into our lives and glasses, one cocktail at a time.
