Making red-hued and sweet grenadine syrup at home is quite easy, if you have this step-by-step DIY recipe at hand. Give it a try and whip up your own mocktails and cocktails.
2 cups pure pomegranate juice 1 cup granulated sugar 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
Mix the pomegranate juice and granulated sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Stir occasionally.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes. Allow the ingredients to reduce slightly and thicken to a syrupy consistency.
Add a tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice to the simmering mixture. This can act as a preservative and also add a touch of brightness to the syrup
Once the syrup has thickened to your liking, remove it from the heat and let it cool down completely. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any pulp or solids.
Transfer the cooled syrup into a sterilised, airtight bottle or jar. Seal it properly and store it in the refrigerator.
