A multifunctional ingredient – mint syrup adds depth and herbal notes along with sweetness by exacting concentration, consistency and infusion duration for cocktails and mocktails. This easy-to-make syrup provides flexibility in drinks by enabling customised adjustments to suit different flavour preferences.
250 ml water 200 gm sugar 20 gm fresh mint leaves
Combine sugar and water in a pan on medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves fully and there are no undissolved granules left behind.
Add the mint leaves, stir for a short while, then remove the pan from heat and cover, allowing infusion to happen without overheating, causing its fragile aromatic components to break.
Allow the mixture to steep for 15 minutes before straining through a fine sieve, pressing the leaves gently to release flavour without adding unwanted bitterness.
Transfer the syrup to a clean, airtight container and refrigerate for up to two weeks, maintaining consistent quality and flavour.
Do not boil mint leaves, as excessive heat can degrade essential oils, lessening the syrup’s aromatic intensity and altering its intended herbal character. *Drink Responsibly. This communication is for audiences above the age of 25.
