6 Easy-And-Delicious Finger Sandwiches To Pair With Vodka Cocktails

Finger Sandwiches To Pair With Vodka Cocktails

Mixologists and cocktail enthusiasts alike love vodka cocktails. For good reason. As a spirit, vodka is just a versatile and blank canvas that really allows you to play around with flavours. That’s exactly why there are vodka cocktails for every taste palate out there!

There are several traditional and iconic cocktails such as the Martini or Cosmopolitan that are proof of how great vodka cocktails are. Drinks such as the Moscow Mule, the Bloody Mary, White Russian, Espresso Martini and Blue Lagoon, among others, are global favourites. And these are obviously just the tip of the iceberg.

However, something that elevates your experiences of these cocktails even more, is having the right bites alongside. And these six finger sandwich recipes very much qualify.

The Cucumber and Cream Cheese

This sandwich is so easy to make and pairs perfectly well with a Vodka Martini or a classic Vodka Collins. For this, you’ll need slices of cucumber, cream cheese, dill and sliced white bread. First, smear the white bread with the cream cheese, then add the cucumber slices, and garnish with dill. We bet you’ll be wanting seconds.

Egg Salad with Watercress

For this delightful treat, you’ll need mashed hard-boiled eggs, mayo, and some paprika for spice (although this is optional), fresh watercress, and sliced whole wheat bread. Combine the mayo, paprika and eggs into a bowl until the eggs are completely covered in the mayo and paprika. Then, add the watercress on each slice followed by a large helping of the salad. This pairs really well with a Lemon Drop Martini or a Vodka Gimlet.

Tomato, Basil And Mozzarella

This is a beaut to make because of how easily available these ingredients are, and it’s the perfect companion to a Vodka Basil Smash or an Espresso Martini. The recipe requires fresh mozzarella slices, thinly sliced tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinegar, and a sliced baguette. First, layer the bread with the mozzarella, tomatoes and basil leaves. Drizzle the vinegar, and then you’re done!

Spicy Tofu And Sriracha

Now, if you love spicy food and you’re vegan, this one is especially for you! Slice tofu and let it sit in your favourite marinade. If you don’t have a preference, allow the tofu to rest in soy sauce, sriracha, maple syrup — or even honey, sesame oil, and ginger garlic paste. Let it sit for at least  30 minutes.  Fry it in a pan with a little chilli oil and some delicious tofu is ready. Apart from the tofu, you’ll need spicy sriracha and sliced whole grain bread. First, smear the bread with the sriracha and then add the slices of tofu. This pairs really well with a Moscow Mule or a Vodka Lemonade.

The Caprese

You’ll need fresh mozzarella slices, tomato slices, basil leaves, onion slices, balsamic vinegar and ciabatta bread to make this appetiser. First, layer the ciabatta with mozzarella, tomatoes, basil leaves, onions, and then drizzle some balsamic vinegar on top. The onion and the ciabatta really make all the difference and help separate this from a tomato, basil and mozzarella sandwich. You can pair this with a Basil Martini or a Vodka Blackberry Lemonade.

The Grilled Portobello Mushroom with Goat Cheese

This sandwich bursts with flavour and pairs really well with a Moscow Mule or an Espresso Martini. For this, you’ll need grilled portobello mushroom caps, goat cheese, caramelised onions, arugula leaves, and sliced whole-grain bread. First, spread a layer of the goat cheese on the bread and then top it off with the mushrooms, caramelised onions and arugula leaves. Our verdict? Chef’s kiss!
