Just Launched: A Triple Cask Travel Exclusive For The Globetrotter
Diageo India has recently unveiled the Godawan Triple Cask Travel Exclusive, curated especially for the globetrotter, effectively adding another range of the exclusive spirit to the award winning artisanal Indian single malt’s repository. The travel exclusive is available in select duty-free airports, beginning with a rollout at Bangalore’s airport which will be followed by Mumbai and Delhi later this year.
Inspired By Jaali Workers
As with the artisanal single malt whisky which derives its inspiration from the magnificent godawan or the great Indian bustard and its abode among the dunes of Rajasthan, so too this most recent travel exclusive takes its cue from the jaali woodwork of the region.
The single malt’s aesthetics draw from this intricate work which is an emblem of heritage craftsmanship, local cultures and elegance offering the traveller an exceptional spirit that positions itself as ideal for a special moment or as a graceful gifting solution.
Godawan Triple Cask Expression
The Triple Cask is distilled at Diageo’s Alwar distillery in Rajasthan and undergoes maturation in traditional ex-bourbon barrels. What follows is a three-way finishing process in PX sherry, virgin oak and cherry wood casks.
This sophisticated making results in the creation of a spirit that reflects golden-brown hues, a floral and fruity aroma and a rather creamy palate complete with a subtle wood finish. The bottle itself containing the spirit is so designed that it reminds one of the jaali work which was the primary motif that inspired the making of the Triple Cask.
Priced approximately at Rs. 5,500 a 700, ml bottle of the Indian single malt with 46% ABV is then exclusively crafted for the traveller, for that celebratory occasion or as a gift at a time when purposeful gifting, collecting and global connections remain significant.

A Premium Spirit For The Global Traveller
What makes this Triple Cask exclusive edition so relevant right now is the prevalence of a new dimension of retail consumerism at airports. For global travellers, the duty-free section has become a space of high-impact discovery, where they are more likely to explore options for gifting and curating their personal collection. This automatically translates into more visibility and access to a brand, especially for the more discerning traveller.
The limited-edition format and cultural storytelling coupled with a mindful luxury and provenance that underlie Godawan make this exclusive malt complete with its new layer of flavour and depth a spirit which such a traveller can seek out, as it continues to assert itself as a symbol of India’s evolving premium palate and excellent craftsmanship.
Godawan’s Craftsmanship
Following its launch in 2022, Godawan’s single malt has quickly garnered recognition for its exceptional expression and flavour depth. Crafted in the high temperatures of Rajasthan’s desserts, the Godawan single malt is made from six-row barley which thrives in these warm, water deficient climes. At once, the whisky distilled amidst such weather becomes a stark departure from the cool climes and geographies from where many single malts originate.
Instead, Godawan, finished in casks curated with Indian botanicals, uses ingredients and processes that attempt to be in tune with such warm weather, becoming an earnest attempt to craft a single malt quintessential to Indian regions. The spirit offers at least two expressions – each one with its own distinct cask finish, from light and floral to robust and spicy.
With the launch of the travel exclusive, the Godawan single malt is now tapping into another emerging market, with its retail travel spirit that takes its roots in Rajasthan to the global traveller as a mark of celebration or as a personal, premium collectible.
