Make These Romantic Cocktails A Date Night Ritual With Your Partner

date night cocktails

You could be on your first date, or looking to spend some quality time with your long-term partner, going the extra mile *always* earns you brownie points. And, if both you and your partner enjoy a drink or two, learning about a few timeless cocktails can always come in very handy.

If you're wondering what you could whip up, be our guest. We've curated a list of  *chef's kiss* classic cocktails just for you.

Rum Old Fashioned

This delicious classic deserves all the credit it gets. The recipe is simple: your preferred measure of Captain Morgan Dark Rum, a sugar cube, Angostura bitters (or any other bitters you prefer, but this one goes really well), an orange slice, and a maraschino cherry). Muddle the sugar cube in a glass with a bit of water. Add a few splashes of bitters until it dissolves. Tip in an ice cube, pour your rum and stir. Garnish with the orange slice and cherry, and it's ready.

Dark and Stormy

This is another dark rum-infused deliciousness that’s best had in the monsoons just because the ambience becomes really befitting of the cocktail. Bonus: It’s also incredibly easy to make. All you need is Captain Morgan Dark Rum, ginger beer and lime juice. Just mix it in a tall glass and serve it with ice. Yes, it really is that simple.

Ciroc Passion Fruit Fizz

Well, you may not have been able to sync your dates for your tropical vacation, but hey, at least you get a taste of what it could be like with this cocktail. All you need is Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka, passion fruit puree (you can also use fresh fruit if it’s available), lime juice, and simple syrup. Add all of that into a shaker and shake until your arm aches. Serve in a tall glass with soda water and lots of ice.

Gin Fizz

This drink will be such a hit that your partner may prod you to make one for every date night! For this cocktail, you will need Gordon's Original London Dry Gin, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and soda water. In a shaker, add 30 ml gin, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Then add some ice cubes into the shaker. A suggestion here: you might want to listen to some Taylor Swift to ease the ache in your arm and shake it off. Strain the mixture in a tall glass filled with ice and top it off with some soda water.

Whisky Sour

There is a reason this cocktail is a classic! It’s the perfect combination of strong notes of whisky with a citrusy hint, both of which combine beautifully with the sweetness of simple syrup. In a shaker, combine 30 ml of Signature Premier Grain Whisky, simple syrup and lemon juice. Once the shaker feels chilled, strain the contents into a rock glass with ice. You can also garnish it with an orange slice or a maraschino cherry.

Smoky Maple Highball

This cocktail combines the smoky undertones of a single malt whisky combined with the sweetness of maple syrup, apple cider, cinnamon, and ginger beer. Fair warning: making this drink may seem cumbersome but trust us when we say, the effort is worth it. In a big bowl, add a generous measure of single malt whisky, apple cider, a pinch of ground cinnamon, and a few slices of ginger. Stir gently. Just before serving, add the ginger beer. Pour the cocktail into tall glasses with ice and garnish with apple slices and a cinnamon stick.

And while you enjoy the date night with your partner with these cocktails, just make sure you drink responsibly!
