Tequila Sunrise Cocktail
The Tequila Sunrise cocktail is an iconic beverage, easily recognisable for its brilliant, layered appearance that resembles hues of the sky at dawn. This remarkable appearance is caused by the grenadine sinking through the orange juice. Aside from its attractiveness, it is the ideal tropical drink which provides light, citrusy flavours.
Ingredients

- 30mL tequila blanco
- 120mL chilled orange juice
- 10mL grenadine
- 1for garnish orange wedge
- Ice cubes
Method
- Step 1
Fill a large highball glass with fresh ice and pour the tequila followed by chilled orange juice.
- Step 2
Slowly pour the grenadine down the side wall of the glass and allow it to settle in the bottom, creating the ‘sunrise’ tiered look without swirling.
- Step 3
Garnish with a fresh orange slice on the rim and serve immediately.
