Adding a touch of turmeric syrup to your cocktails can bring a unique depth of flavour and a vibrant golden hue. Follow this simple four-step guide to create your own DIY turmeric syrup and elevate your mixology game.
1 cup water 1 cup granulated sugar 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
In a saucepan, combine equal parts water and granulated sugar. Place the pan over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar completely dissolves.
Once the sugar has dissolved, stir in one tablespoon of ground turmeric.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, allowing the turmeric to infuse into the syrup. Simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
After simmering, remove the saucepan from heat and let the syrup cool. Once it reaches room temperature, strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve.
