The blackberry whisky cocktail is a fruity spin packed with the rich taste of seasonal berries, making it a great sipper throughout the summer months, or as a bright alternative to heavier whisky drinks. Best served chilled at brunch or dusk events, its visual and aromatic appeal is further elevated when topped with fresh blackberries or a lemon slice.
Thoroughly cool a rocks glass or coupe by placing it in the freezer.
Using a cocktail shaker, gently muddle 3-4 fresh blackberries; pour in the scotch whisky, blackberry syrup and fresh lemon juice along with ice cubes.
Secure the top and vigorously shake for 15-20 seconds until the surface is well-cooled and frosted.
Double-strain the ingredients into a cold glass, garnish with some fresh blackberries and serve immediately.
